Sacred Heart Parish, serving Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, and surrounding communities, has a history steeped in tradition, devotion, perseverance, and commitment. Our founding parishioners pursued a dream to worship God in freedom and to share their faith with their children. They made tremendous sacrifices to provide us the very same structures within which we presently celebrate our sacraments and teach the faith to our children. Even our cornerstone, fashioned at the Glen Ridge quarry and containing a slab of marble from Capernaum, is testimony of our founder’s determination to become a people founded on Jesus Christ.
